mail has been completely blocked in China, following six months of disruption by government censors. Google’s Transparency Report reveals Gmail traffic in China dropping like a stone on December 25th.

The Chinese government has not claimed responsibility for the sudden drop in Gmail traffic from the country but a Google spokesperson told Reuters: “We’ve checked and there’s nothing wrong on our end.”

Anti-censorship group GreatFire.org says large numbers of Gmail addresses were cut off in China on Friday. Unsurprisingly, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told Reuters that she did not know anything about Gmail being blocked.

During the summer, Chinese government censors clamped down on Google services, as well as LinkedIn and other sites, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests.
Although Gmail was affected in that crackdown, determined users in China could still access their accounts using IMAP, POP and STMP. But now that loophole appears to have been closed. Virtual private networks (VPNs) are the last route to access blocked services.

Google relocated its search engine to Hong Kong from China in 2010, following allegations that the government had hacked into Gmail accounts belonging to prominent activists.

3-D printers are amazing things. Surprisingly, the first 3-D printer was invented over 30 years ago, and technology has made huge leaps forward since then. While most people may think of 3-D printers as gimmicky, printing only toys and novelty items, these printers can do so much more. 3-D printers are on the verge of saving lives, halting world hunger, manufacturing eco-friendly clothes and cars...and of course, a few fun items, too. Check out the 20 amazing printables below. If these don't make you optimistic for the future, nothing will.

1.) Fetuses

A Japanese company will print a 3D model of your fetus after an ultrasound for 100,000 yen, which is a little over $840 in American currency. Because, why not?

2.) Guns

Watch this 3-D printed gun in action here.

3.) Meat

One U.S. start-up, Modern Meadow, has created a 3-D printed meat prototype. Though it's not yet suitable for human consumption, it does look like the real deal.

4.) Skin Grafts

After a bio-printer scans a patient's wound, new skin can be printed directly onto the injury. A portable model, that can be brought to war and disaster zones, is in the works.

5.) Bicycles

This 3-D printed trail bike is made of titanium and is fully customizable.

6.) Houses

While not actually possible yet, there are multiple plans in the works to 3-D print houses, including this Dutch architect's Landscape House.

7.) Cars

The first 3-D printed car is called the "Urbee" and gets up to 200 miles per gallon of gas.

8.) Camera Lenses

Lenses can cost thousands of dollars. 3-D printing could make camera lenses much more affordable.

9.) Ears

These printed ears are made from cow cartilage cells and collagen from rat tails. The ears have to be incubated for three months before they can be transplanted onto a human.

10.) Bartending Machines

Look out, bartenders. This 3-D printed machine can mix up any drink you want. I'll take a cosmo, please.

11.) Custom-Fit Clothing

3-D printers can make custom-fit clothing using your body's data. The printing process also leaves behind little-to-no waste, and could be an eco-friendly way to manufacture outfits very soon.

12.) Medical Models

3-D printed medical models could eliminate the use and need for cadavers in medical schools.

13.) Flutes

This printed flute is called a shakuhachi, a traditional Chinese flute dating back to the 8th century. This model was printed with bronze.

14.) Shoes

These shoes were printed by fashion designer Pauline Van Dongen as a part of the Future of Fashion exhibition in Amsterdam.

15.) Educational products

Maps and models for educational use can be made with 3-D printers, potentially making educational resources more affordable and accessible.

16.) Guitars

With 3-D printing, musicians can make replicas of their favorite guitarist's instruments.

17.) Bikinis

This printed bikini is waterproof, touted as the only swimsuit that becomes more comfortable when it gets wet.

18.) Pizza

This pizza-making printer was a project funded by NASA. Watch the pizza being printed here.

19.) 'Adult' Products

3DEA, an adult store in New York City, sells customizable 3-D printed adult products.

20.) 3-D Printers

Yes, 3-D printers can print more 3-D printers. The RepRap machine costs $600 dollars, but can print itself over and over again. Talk about a return on your investment.

These printable products could change the world as we know it. Will 3-D printers be a household item in the near future? What would you print if you had one?

A team in Australia breaks the 500 nanometer barrier.

Compact discs are over 30 years old and as likely to be used as a Metallica desk clock as a way to cue up Master Of Puppets. But it turns out that we may not have even come close to reaching the capacity of optical storage mediums.

Instead of the 4.7 gigabytes of data a DVD holds, or 700 megabytes a CD currently holds, Dr. Zongsong Gan and his team at Australia's Swinburne University of Technology have figured out how to store 1,000 terabytes of data on a single DVD, and were recently awarded a Victoria Fellowship for the work.

The current limitations of writing data to optical discs is what's known as the refraction limit of light. Since light can't be broken down smaller than 500 nanometers, it was assumed that lasers (light) couldn't write bits of information smaller than 500 nanometers either. That's apparently not true, as Dr. Gan and his partners figured out that using two light beams, they can shorten the writing light down to just 9 nanometers.

This is the difference between drawing on a piece of paper with a huge Sharpie and a fine-tip pen. The fat maker can't include the same amount information and drawing details that the pen with a small tip can—same for the beam of light writing bits to a disc.

Cleverly, the reachers used two light beams, both 500 nanometers themselves. One was used for writing bits of information while the second purple circular beam was used to block all but a point of light 9 nanometers in width.

The benefits of this technological advancement are pretty obvious, like being able to put higher resolution video on a single disc. But there are still some serious problems these advancements raise as well.

"Putting so much information on a single disc makes it easier for people to destroy huge amounts of data and thus cost more to protect the disc," says Dr. Gan. "Also, we are now working to speed up for data reading and recording. If we're still using the current DVD speed, how long it will take to write 1,000 TB of data onto a disc?"

In addition to the entertainment benefits, like video sizes, Dr. Gan is also highly focused on the implications for general purpose data storage. Being able to radically increase data storage, either on optical discs or another format, will go a long way toward what the researcher imagines for the future.

"In my mind, I have an vision for our society in the future where everyone will have a data bank account just like we all have a bank account today," Dr. Gan explains. "We'll save all of our data in the data bank. Everyone no longer needs the same things today as phones, iPads, or laptops. We only need a soft touch screen, any data processing, while storage is done remotely."

Whenever you need to re-install your windows, the most difficult task is to remember which softwares to install after the windows is installed to keep your computer full of all the required softwares.

The simplest way of extracting the required data is via the WMI command line, wmic:

open cmd (as administrator) and run wmic product

Yes, that is all. It runs for a while and then spits out very detailed information on what is installed on the local system. If you need this information in a readable and organized way, use the following variation of above command to have wmic create a CSV file:

wmic product get /format:csv > Software_%Computername%.csv

OR

open cmd (as administrator) and run wmic
you will see wmic console now run:  /output:C:\InstallList.txt product get name, version

The result is a nice complete list in CSV format in a file that already contains the computer name for easier processing later on.

Some offices can be boring and stifling, but definitely not these – we made a list of the coolest and most well-designed office spaces in the world.
Not all work spaces were created equal – some can reduce workers’ morale while others can keep them happy and inspire them to be more energetic and creative. For companies like Google, which require smart, creative and in-demand workers, such offices offer a competitive edge when trying to attract young and intelligent employees.
There are many different ways to make an office cater to its workers. Some of these offices feature athletic equipment that helps workers reduce stress or get their blood flowing (which is always important if you sit behind a desk all day). Others feature lounges where workers can relax and feel at home. At some, the offices are designed to encourage workers to think more creatively or playfully.
Some of the ideas used in these offices overlap with the list of Amazing Ideaswe’ve written about, while others are specific to a work environment. This makes sense, however, since offices can sometimes seem like a second home!
Did we miss your office? Feel free to share images of your workspace in the comments!

While closing Microsoft Word document, it asks you if you want to save your document and sometimes in urgency we click on Don't save and then shout out loudly "Oh Shit" but you might not know that you can still retrieve your drafted document.

After exiting from Microsoft Word document editor, you need to reopen it and follow the step shown in the image below

Click on "Recover Unsaved Documents" and select your unsaved document as shown in the image below

And you have your lost document back in front of you.

After Installing a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows we need to do a few things to keep it safe, secure and speedy lets list them out.

  1. Auto Run (Recommended)

This is a must do thing in a fresh windows installation because windows has a functionality to auto run any removable media (CD/DVD/USB), This functionality can be called ease of use but at the same time viruses have targeted Auto Run functionality to run a viral script. This way when you plug in your USB the viral script runs without any of your action and this auto run some times can not be scanned when running or you can say it takes some time to scan this area and till then you are infected, so it is recommended to Disable auto run by the following procedure.

    Click Start
go to Control Panel   and Click Auto Play

In AutoPlay Uncheck the following check box

    and Click Save

  2. Show Hidden Files (Recommended)

As we know there is an option to hide your files in windows and this option is enabled by default. This is also helpful for viruses to hide viral files in your USB drives which runs on autorun. If you have disabled Auto Run which can run the virus that exists on your USB, there is still around 90% chance that you will run the viral script yourself without even knowing it... Amazed? let me tell you how is there a huge possibility to run that virus: Majority of people opens there USB drive by double clicking it and double clicking the USB icon in "My Computer"

This is the easiest way to navigate your USB drive but unfortunately this is the most unsafest way to navigate your removable drive and a very common way to spread virus, instead if hidden files are shown you can check your removable drive for any possible viral scripts by navigating in to it with single click from the left side navigation bar.

  3. Anti Virus (Recommended)

The best Anti Virus for Windows PC user is Microsoft's Security Essential. Since it has a great compatibility with operating system while other Anti Viruses just can't beat it in compatibility.
To Download Microsoft Security Essential click here  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download
  4. Windows Update. (Optional)

Microsoft and many reputable technical consultants recommends to keep your windows update some recommends to schedule an update some recommends to do it manually while I would rather say "do not update your windows ever until you have a technical requirement". Practically you will never feel any difference in your PC after any update rather your computer will slow down with every update. when you download the update you waste your Internet Bandwidth when you install it you waste your processing time and power. After installing update you lose some of your disk space. I am sure your computer does not belongs to NASA so you never need any update. overall Windows Update is a total waste.
  5. Windows Theme (Optional)

By every new version of Windows, its themes are being more and more attractive but at the same time it is becoming heavier for the computer if you have no major load on you computer you can enjoy these good looking windows themes, but if you feel your system is a bit too heavy and it takes time in almost every task you should think about disabling these good looking themes and switch to Windows Classic Theme.
